DIGITAL BADGES

EXCITING NEWS! The COMMUNITY COLLEGE CYBER SUMMIT (3CS) is issuing digital badges at this year’s conference. Attendees, presenters and workshop participants will have the opportunity to earn digital badges based on varying levels of professional or personal achievements at the upcoming conference.

WHAT IS A DIGITAL BADGE?

  • An information-rich, validated indicator of achievement, skill, or interest that can be earned in various learning settings and shared through digital channels.

  • A portable and secure digital representation of many things, such as: learning outcome, experience, competency, specific skills, a set of skills, a certificate program or a course.

  • A machine-readable credential that is discoverable in digital professional networks. They allow earners to clearly communicate their skills, experience and relevant qualifications to employers, to academic institutions, and to their community.

WHAT BADGES WILL BE AWARDED AND WHAT ARE THE CRITERIA?

WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH YOUR DIGITAL BADGE?

  • Once you have met the criteria to earn a digital badge, you will receive an email at the email address provided when registering for 3CS, letting you know the badge has been awarded to you. The email, sent from Credly (digital badge platform), will provide a link for you to review and accept the digital badge. You will be able to view the badge, accept it, and elect to display it on your social media sites, such as LinkedIn, Facebook or Twitter, and on your resume, website, blogs, or in your e-portfolio.

  • This is a great way to showcase your own training and development.   The visual image links to verifiable information about who issued the badge, what is required to earn the badge, and the evidence performed to achieve the badge.

  • The value in digital badges is the rigor and earning criteria that define the badge. SynED and the 3CS conference committee have defined digital badges that attendees, workshop participants and presenters may proudly display on their CV and LinkedIn profiles.

HOW CAN YOU SHARE YOUR BADGE?

  • Connect your LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and XING accounts to your Credly profile
